Institutional Copy (or record)

The term “institutional copy” is often used to refer to the institutional record of the dissertation, after it has passed examination. Often the institutional copy of the dissertation is the same thing as the dissertation–but not always. For instance, the institutional copy of Archibald’s (1997) dissertation is the dissertation, but in Visconti’s (2015) case, the institutional record (or copy) is not the dissertation (a website is).
